How can I prepare for your arrival?
- Please make sure to have your dog ready to go. We recommend taking them out to go potty at least a half hour before our arrival and to try to avoid doing it when we arrive. Most times the dogs are too excited to take their potty break if we are already there. This ensures your best friend is comfortable for the time they are with us and does have an accident while getting groomed.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
- The convenience of mobile grooming makes getting your dog groomed simple and hassle free! We show up to your home with a fully equipped mobile salon, we may request to plug in for power and we carry our own heated water. We will go over what you would like done for your dog's haircut and any potential issues the groomer can identify before the groom and answer any of your questions. Most grooms take around an hour to hour and a half depending on the size, coat and temperament of the dog. Once completed payment is accepted by cash, check or card. You will then have the option to set up a reoccurring schedule!
Do I have to be at home for the appointment?
- YES! For your FIRST appointment, we require that someone is home for us to meet and to introduce us to your dog! We love meeting our new clients and being properly introduced to your pets. It makes your pet less anxious and keeps us safe! After your first appointment we can talk about getting your dog on a regular grooming schedule and using our Latch Key service.
What is a Latch Key service?
- After your first appointment you can choose to schedule during the workday when you are not home. As long as I can retrieve your pet that has been safely secured for easy access and payment has been left ahead of time, we can complete the appointment as planned.
Do you have to use my home or utilities?
- We do all of the grooming in our van. We always arrive with our own heated water and will have power from our generator. However, on a case by case circumstance we may need to hook up to an outlet and or replenish the water supply (this especially applies to large double coated dogs) it is usually not an issue and will ask prior to the appointment if we have access to a hot/cold water spigot.
What is your arrival time window?
- Dapper Dog Mobile Grooming will arrive within a 30 minute window before and after your scheduled appointment time. Dapper Dog Mobile Grooming will NEVER risk your dogs safety by rushing to finish a groom. If the window of arrival time will be different than that stated above Dapper Dog Mobile Grooming will be in contact with you to notify you of the change.
Do you drive in bad weather?
- No. If the weather is bad we will contact you to reschedule. This includes wind advisories. A good rule of thumb to use is if the surrounding schools are closed, you will more than likely be hearing from us to reschedule your appointment!
How much will it cost for my dog to be groomed?
- Based on the coat condition, size, breed, dog behavior, and matting will determine the price of the dogs groom. Contact Dapper Dog Mobile Grooming for estimated prices for your pets grooming. All services include a bath, nail trim/grinding, breath spray/teeth brushing, ear cleaning/plucking, haircut that is requested/brush out as required.
How often should my dog be groomed?
- We recommend every 4-6 weeks. It is best to keep your dog on a regular grooming schedule so they remain happy and healthy!
Do you accept big dogs?
- We are able to accept giant breeds that have been regularly groomed and will be required to be on a established reoccurring schedule with us.
Do you do cats?
- No we do not do cats.
Do you do sedated dogs?
- No. It is for your pets safety and our own that you take your pet to the vet to be sedated to be groomed. If you know that your dog needs to be sedated or muzzled for grooming please inform us for everyones safety.
Do you offer multiple dog discounts?
No we do not.
what if my dog cannot be completed?
- We take many steps prior to gauge if we are a good fit for each of our clients and do work with difficult dogs with many success stories.
- If the dog is unable to be completed during the grooming process or Dapper Dog Mobile Grooming arrives and the dog is too problematic to start grooming, you will be charged the full price of the groom.
My dog has never been groomed before and is over 2 years old?
- Please be advised that dogs who have never experienced a grooming routine have a higher risk of not being able to be completed. Our groomer is in a confined space with the dog and if your pet becomes dangerous or problematic it puts your pet and our groomer at risk. In this case a fee is applied for the time that was taken to work with your pet, travel expenses and reserved time slot for the grooming appointment.
